Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
Business in a Box is a product of Biztree Inc., a company incorporated in Canada. References to “Business in a Box,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy refer to Biztree Inc. operating under the Business in a Box brand.
The Business in a Box platform (this website and the Business in a Box app) uses cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies (collectively, “cookies”) to operate the Service, remember your preferences, understand how the platform is used, and — where you consent — measure marketing performance. This policy explains what cookies we use, why, and how you can control them.
For more information about how we handle personal data generally, please review our Privacy Policy. Questions about specific cookies can be sent to privacy@business-in-a-box.com.
1. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site recognize your browser on return visits, remember preferences, and understand how you use the site.
First-party vs. third-party: First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting (business-in-a-box.com). Third-party cookies are set by another domain, usually a service provider we work with (e.g., an analytics or fraud-prevention vendor).
Session vs. persistent: Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
We also use similar technologies — such as pixels, tags, local storage, and device identifiers — which we treat the same way as cookies for the purpose of this policy.
2. Cookie Categories We Use
We group cookies into four categories. “Strictly Necessary” cookies are always on (they are essential to run the Service); the others are optional and only set with your consent where required by law.
| Category | Purpose | Retention | Typical providers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary Always on | Authenticate users, maintain secure sessions, load balancing, CSRF protection, and bot/abuse prevention (e.g., reCAPTCHA). | Session / up to 1 year | Business in a Box, Google reCAPTCHA |
| Functional Optional | Remember your language, theme, layout, and other UI preferences across visits. | Up to 1 year | Business in a Box |
| Analytics Optional | Help us understand how visitors use the platform, measure performance, and improve features. | Up to 2 years | Privacy-conscious web and product analytics providers |
| Marketing Optional | Measure advertising campaign effectiveness and limit how often you see the same ad. We do not sell personal information. | Up to 2 years | Advertising platforms where we run campaigns |
For a current, detailed list of the cookies active on the site, email privacy@business-in-a-box.com.
3. Your Consent
Where required by law (including in the EU, EEA, and UK), we only set optional cookies — Functional, Analytics, and Marketing — after you give your consent through our cookie banner. Strictly Necessary cookies do not require consent because they are essential to deliver the Service you requested.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the cookie preferences (where available) or by using your browser settings as described below. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that happened before you withdrew it.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Cookie preferences: Use our cookie banner or preferences link (when shown in your region) to accept, reject, or fine-tune optional cookie categories.
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Keep in mind that blocking Strictly Necessary cookies will break parts of the Service.
- Sign out: Signing out of your account clears session cookies tied to your login.
Direct cookie-settings paths for common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some features rely on services provided by third parties that may set their own cookies. These include:
- Google reCAPTCHA — bot protection on our forms. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Payment providers (e.g., Stripe, PayPal) — for secure checkout and fraud prevention.
- Analytics providers — to understand platform usage (only with consent where required).
- Advertising platforms — only where you have consented to Marketing cookies.
You can also visit industry opt-out tools to manage interest-based advertising broadly:
- United States: aboutads.info
- Canada: youradchoices.ca
- European Union: youronlinechoices.eu
6. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. There is no single industry standard for how sites should respond to DNT, but where applicable law requires us to honor a signal like GPC as an opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, we will do so. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be notified through the Service or via email where appropriate.
